The Boeing 737-800 is a stretched version of the 737-700. The 737 offers overall more legroom, leaving passengers with a 32" seat pitch. The overall length of the aircraft is 39.5m. The advanced- design Next- Generation 737 has proven to be the most cost- efficient, reliable and capable single- aisle aircraft. The new 737 MAX 8s will have 16 United First and 54 Economy Plus seats running all the way back to the exit row, doubling the number of premium seats configured on competitor jets. United First offers a 37-pitch, economy plus has a generous 33-38-inch pitch and the 96 regular economy seats are situated with a slightly snug 30-inch pitch. On a 179-seat Boeing 737-900, United Airlines' larger bins will have room for an extra 65 bags. The airline is also testing gate seating with more outlets where passengers can charge electronics.
I have to change planes, switching from a 737 to an E175. I prefer the E175 for several reasons. The most important reason is that a first class seat on the E175 are noticeably more comfortable than a business seat on the 737. Secondly, the first class seat has more leg room than the 737's business class seat.
The crux of the argument is that in the 737-800 aircraft overhead bins fit rollerbags four wide, I'm sure these are at least 12" to 14" each, so you should be fine on a newer aircraft. Head to the back to find an empty bin for your use.

737-700 . 737-300/400/500. This is one of the later production 737-300 overhead panels. The air conditioning panel shows that it is not a 400 series and the digital cabin pressurisation controller shows that it is a late build aircraft. 737-300 . 737-200.
