I find the 2.0 16v TDi drives more like a petrol than the 1.9 i.e. its more free revving and doesn't have the low down slug of torque the 1.9 has but it pulls higher into the rev range. I can manage 58.7mpg measured by filling tank on a 400 mile run to Scotland and back but that is cruising keeping revs around 2,000 and driving like a granny.

1.9 TDI lasts long thanks to some very resilient quality on Volkswagen’s part and even longer if the engine is well maintained and serviced. You could very easily make it past 200,000 miles with a 1.9 engined car. In a lot of cases, there are cars with more than 300,000 miles on the clock, but even that’s not the full potential of the 1.9 TDI.
After driving his 4Runner with the TDI motor for a while, the car enthusiast came back to report that he experienced very few issues with the car. He was happy with the gas mileage, which was 31 MPG during the summer months. The power, he said, was “much better than a 22RE or a 3.0 even.” It produced about 200 lb-ft of torque.
The 1.6 TDI, the successor to the iconic 1.9 TDI engine, belongs to the EA189 family – the same as the famous 2.0 TDI PD engine. However, there is nothing to worry about. Diesel 1.6 TDI is not a capricious engine injector also has a Common Rail type power supply and has basically no drawbacks.

I'm particularly interested in the 1.9 105hp ones because I haven't heard good things about the 16v 2.0 TDI BKD, and the 8v 2.0 BMM I've heard is better but really hard to find for some reason in my area. My main question is, between the 3 different engine codes for the 1.9 105hp (BKC,BXE,BLS) - what are the differences, and which one would you 77AO1q.
